Double Page Spread Fonts

These are my chosen options for the fond ( title ) of the DPS:

Double Page Spread Layouts

Layouts

For the DPS I have chosen 3 Layouts, each of them emphasising on a different aspect.

The first one emphasises on the article, as this is the first thing the audience see when they open the page.

This one emphasises on the photo, as  it takes a lot more space compared to the rest of the content on the pages.

This one is my personal favourite, because is unusual and a bit more creative then the rest.
It emphasises on the title and photo at the same time using their collaboration to catch the audience's eye.

After consideration and feedback from the audience, I have decided to choose the last layout, lets see how that will turn out.

Notes On Magazine From Textbook

 Notes on magazine from textbook

In the UK there are 5 major publishing companies:
  1. Emap
  2. IPC Media
  3. National Magazine Company
  4. Conde
  5. Dennis
A magazine is produced, distributed and consumed.
Distributed: Promoted and sold in print format.
Consumed:Downloaded, subscribed to or purchased.

The Audience:
Publishers target audience in order to provide the best tittles for them and sell space and provide information to the advertisers.

Advertising:
Advertising is the most lucrative element in magazine publishing. Magazines are considered as products as well as text, that way far more money are earned.

Technology:
Technology has a great impact on magazine publishing. Especially nowadays when technology is developing so fast. Statistics show that by 2020 only 10% of magazine reading will be form hard copies on paper. Online magazines already exist and this way their distribution is easier, cheaper and lets not forget environmentally friendly. Another plus of this is the idea of ''social publishing'' over the internet which could appeal more to the public than the ''push media''.

Despite that the magazine market remains one of the most old-fashioned media sectors.

Content Page

About the Content Page:

I've made a couple of drafts and tryouts so far but I have one fully finished:

This is just so I can get an idea how it might look. This will be the only page of my project that is going to have a white background, because although it is a rock, unpopilar magazine that doesn't mean that it cannot afford to have white on the pages.

What do you think so far?
Soon I'm going to post more pages and deside which one is the best choice. :)

Here is a second version:

The audience feedback that I got for my contents pages were that they need improvement, they need to look busy, have more colums, more things written and not so much blank space!

Front Cover

After a lot of changes and tryouts I've come up with this for my front cover:

There is still work on it that needs to be done, I'll probably make couple more to see how will they look, but so far this is it.
what do you think? :)

This was the first draft, now my front cover looks pretty much like this:

Unfortunately it's not finished yet...far from finished actually. :)
How do you find the colours?
